Embracing Life Through the Experience of Death
by Ms. Anu Aga
Ms Anu Aga’s talk was based on her personal experience of dealing with death. Instead of turning bitter and sad, she reflected on death and turned to ”Vipassana” a form of meditation, which gave her inner peace, strength and the ability to face life.
Excerpt from the talk
"My personal encounter with the death has been a chain of tragedies. It started forty-two years ago. I lost my five-month-old daughter; then many years later, my husband, sixty years old at that time; then my mother-in-law; and within a few days my twenty-five year old son, in a road accident.
I was seeking for some answers and attended the Buddhist meditation program “Vipassana”, which helped me to get in touch with my inner strength. My practice of “Vipassana” meditation for one hour everyday has helped me to acquire greater peace, joy and equanimity within myself".
